Gary Churchill
Gary is responsible for the overall management of Old Republic Aerospace’s aviation insurance operations, including comprehensive oversight of all underwriting and operational functions.
Gary began a career in aviation insurance as an underwriter with United States Aircraft Insurance Group (USAIG), serving in the Minneapolis and New York City offices and advancing to the role of Assistant Vice President. From 2008 to 2009, Gary served as Regional Vice President of Underwriting at Travelers Aviation. In 2009, Gary joined Old Republic Aerospace as Vice President and established a regional underwriting office in Chicago. Gary later relocated to Kennesaw, Georgia, was promoted to Senior Vice President in 2012, and was appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer in 2014. In April 2024, Gary was named the third President in the history of Old Republic Aerospace.
Gary holds a Bachelor of Science in Aviation from Western Michigan University, a commercial pilot license with an instrument rating, and a Certificate of Achievement in Lean Six Sigma from Villanova University. Gary has also completed the Aviation Insurance Association’s Certified Aviation Insurance Professional (CAIP) designation and the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation from The Institutes. In addition, Gary has served on the Aviation Insurance Association’s Board of Directors and on the General Aviation Joint Steering Committee as the insurance industry representative.
